Trent Lane is a comprehensive renovation and extension project that transforms a dated 1970s house into a contemporary family home, carefully reconfigured to take full advantage of its elevated rural setting.

The project involves the full refurbishment of the existing property alongside the addition of a two-storey side extension and a single-storey rear extension. Together, these interventions rationalise the internal layout and significantly increase the usable floor area, providing a more balanced and functional home. The side extension introduces an additional bedroom at first-floor level, improving the long-term flexibility of the house while remaining visually subordinate to the original structure.

To the rear, the new single-storey extension forms a generous open-plan kitchen and living space that becomes the focal point of the home. Full-height glass sliding doors open directly onto a modern external decking area, creating a strong visual and physical connection between inside and out. Positioned to capitalise on the property’s elevated position, the space frames uninterrupted views across the surrounding fields, allowing natural light and landscape to play a central role in the daily experience of the house.
